The NanoScience Laboratory (NSL) is dedicated to research into the physics and chemistry of nanoscale systems. We also do small scale materials development for commercial customers.

Our work is funded primarily by the Australian Research Council (ARC). From 2017, the NSL has been part of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science. The Laboratory Director, Prof. Paul Mulvaney, is also Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science.

We also receive support from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2010-2018), Go8-DAAD (2015-2019), VLSCI Supercomputing and CSIRO.

Our Laboratory is located in the Chemistry Building (Building 153, Masson Road) at the University of Melbourne. It is  part of the School of Chemistry.
