About Us

This is the website of the NanoScience Laboratory at the University of Melbourne. Our laboratory is dedicated to research into the physics and chemistry of nanoscale systems. We also do small scale materials development for commercial customers. Our work is funded by the Australian Research Council, Department of Education, Science and Technology (DEST), the Australian Academy of Sciences (AAS), DAAD (German Academic Exchange), and industry clients.

Current areas of research include: quantum dots in LEDs and solar cells and biolabelling, plasmonics, energy transfer mechanisms in nanoscale systems, nanomechanics, smart functional materials, nanofabrication techniques and nanocrystal doping.
