QD-protein conjugation for cancer cell receptor studies.
This project aims to examine the conjugation of QDs to protein, specifically the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), for cancer research studies. The surface chemsitry of the QDs have been altered to make them soluble in biological / aqueous buffes and have been functionalised to specifically react with proteins. The QD-EGF conjugates will be used as biological markers to monitor the oligomerisation states and dynamics of the EGF receptor.
