Research Assistant & Laboratory Manager Nanoscience Laboratory
|
||||||
| Current Project | I have recently joined the Nanoparticle group as a research assistant and laboratory manager. My duties are to work on contract projects with the industry and look after the Nanoparticle laboratory. | ||||||
| Research Interests | My research aspirations are to synthesize nano-crystals and explore their optical and microstructure properties. | ||||||
| Previous Positions/Education |
I completed my PhD at RMIT University on the sol-gel synthesis of nano-bimetallic oxide thin films. In this project, I was exploring the low temperature sol-gel routes to materials which allow the control of their microstructure for Chromium- and Manganese-doped Titanium oxides; and hence their electronic properties for the development of mixed-metal sensor thin films. Prior to my PhD research commitment, I worked with Professor Charles Young at Melbourne University and Professor Mark Humphrey at Australian National University over the 1999 and 2000 summers, studying the chemistry of calixarene Tungsten and Molybdenum compounds and the Ruthenium cluster chemistry with Phosphine ligands. |
